Has anyone looked into the dynamics of how embankments erode during heavy rainfall? I'm wondering if there's any additional information out there about similar incidents, particularly with unstable creek banks. The part where they mentioned the embankment appearing to have collapsed got me thinking. Could there be a history of such terrain issues at other properties in the area? I feel like understanding the geographical and environmental factors could give us more insight into what might have happened to Mr. Hiatt. It’s also puzzling that the coat found didn't match his wife's recollection—possible indicator of the water's chaos during the storm? Pretty complex situation, and my heart goes out to all faced with such uncertainty.
Hey, everyone. I was just thinking about the circumstances surrounding Nathan Richard Hiatt's disappearance back in 2007. One detail that's been bugging me is the coat found near Waller's Creek. If his wife didn't recognize it, could it really have belonged to Nathan? I mean, while his son and daughter-in-law confirmed it was his, isn't it possible there was some mix-up? With all the chaos from the storm and the rescue efforts, maybe that coat belonged to someone else who got swept away or misplaced during the flood. I wonder if there's any chance DNA or some unique identifier on the coat was checked? Anything that might give more credibility to it being Nathan's coat. It just seems like a loose end in the case, and I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on it!
