Has anyone been following Cole Vilhauer Buckley's case and has info on the extent of underwater searches done at Lake Union? I've seen people mention his frequent swims around the Pocock Rowing Center, but details on search efforts there seem scarce. The last footage of him showed only his wetsuit and backpack, which makes you wonder if the focus should have been more intensive around the water initially. If he's really out there, it seems crucial to know more about the area searches, especially given the limited clues. Have there been any updates on whether specialized teams or divers were brought in? It just seems like such a vast area, and any missed sections could be vital.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the circumstances surrounding Cole Vilhauer Buckley’s disappearance, particularly the fact that he left his phone and wallet behind but took his backpack and wetsuit. It seems to imply he had a specific plan in mind when he left. I know that Lake Union is popular for swimming, and the surveillance footage of him in his lobby gives some weight to the theory that he intended to go for a swim just like any other night.
I've done some reading, and it appears that people often leave items like wallets and phones at home if they're headed somewhere they're familiar with, thinking they’ll get back soon. But given the timing and the lack of any new leads, does anyone else wonder if there’s something missing in this puzzle? Could there possibly have been a side trip he intended to make, or someone else he was meeting? It’s daunting how much of this case feels like a mystery with so few pieces.
Anyone else with kayaking or rowing experience on Lake Union? I’d love to hear their perspective on how the conditions may have been that night or if it’s unusually easy for someone to get into distress out there, given the current and temperatures. If anyone frequents that area, especially at night, your insights could be invaluable. We might not be detectives, but the wider the net of shared experiences, the closer we might get to uncovering new information.
