Hey everyone, I've recently been digging into the disappearance of Mary Virginia Carpenter, and I keep coming back to the story from the taxi driver, Edgar Ray 'Jack' Zachary. I find it interesting (and a bit suspicious) that his wife recanted her original statement about his whereabouts all those years later. Even though he was never charged, and passed two polygraph tests, I'm curious about the significance of her change in testimony. Could her retraction have been influenced by something, or was there more going on behind the scenes that the investigators might've missed? Plus, considering Zachary’s criminal background and the fact that his alibi fell through, it feels like there’s a lot more to explore here. What do you guys think—is this just a red herring, or is there something deeper to Zachary's involvement or knowledge about Mary's disappearance?
