Hey everyone, I've been fascinated by cold cases and recently came across the disappearance of Michael Richard Alfinito Jr. Something that really piques my curiosity is the whole mix-up with the dates and locations. Does anyone else find it strange that there's such a significant discrepancy between official reports and the accounts from that book, "Gone Missing In New York"? I mean, how can there be a whole year difference in when he was last seen? ?
Also, with him being a fitness instructor and training to become an EMS technician, he seemed like a responsible guy. I wonder if there are any details about his friend Louie, who he was supposedly with that night. Did Louie ever come forward with more info, or did anything ever get officially recorded about that evening? It's definitely odd that the NYPD lost the original report.
Does anyone have thoughts on how such critical info went missing or how it might have impacted the investigation's progress? I feel like without those details, it's tough to even piece together a timeline. What do you all think?
I've been following the case of Michael Richard Alfinito Jr., and what's puzzling to me is the timeline around his last sighting. There's this conflicting information about when he was last seen—1984 vs. 1985—and it makes me wonder how such a big discrepancy could occur in such a serious investigation. I get that it's been decades and memories aren't perfect, but shouldn't there be clearer records, especially with something like this? If he was indeed last seen in 1985 at his friend Louie's place, that's a whole year of potential sightings or events that might not have been considered. It almost feels like crucial evidence could have been missed entirely due to the uncertainty. Has anyone else read "Gone Missing In New York"? I’m curious if the book provides more insight or if it just adds to the confusion. Sometimes I think about how these small details could change the direction of the entire case. What are your thoughts on why the timeline has such gaps?
