It's unsettling to think about Maura Murray's decision to pack up most of her dorm room before she vanished. Was she planning to come back, or was she preparing to leave for good? The fact that she went through the effort to inform her professors and work about a fabricated family death makes me wonder if she intended to disappear for a longer period than initially assumed. It's such an odd contrast between someone preparing for a temporary absence yet showing signs of making a more permanent move. Could she have confided these plans to anyone? There’s been a lot of speculation about her state of mind at the time, but I can't help but think there’s a missing piece to this puzzle. What was her plan for after that accident, and did it go terribly wrong, or did everything happen just as she intended?
Something that's been gnawing at me lately about Maura Murray's case is the timing of everything on that fateful evening. The accident was reported at 7:27 p.m., and the police arrived at 7:46 p.m. That's only a 19-minute window where she could have gone missing. It just seems such a short span for so much to happen.
I'm really curious about the detail that her scent was lost about 100 yards from the crash site. It makes me wonder if there was a car parked nearby. Did she get into someone's car voluntarily, or was she coerced? Did anyone see another vehicle around?
Also, her decision to pack up her dorm room and tell her professors she'd be gone for a week makes me think she must have had a plan, or at least was considering something significant. It's haunting to think she might have been so close to starting a new chapter, and then something just went terribly wrong.
Would love to hear thoughts on what could have happened in those crucial few minutes after the crash.
