I’ve been following the Shirley Leona Sprang case and something about her last known sighting in Nebraska really piques my curiosity. Does anyone know if there have been any efforts to search areas around Lincoln, Nebraska? It was mentioned that her last known contact was with law enforcement there on December 19, 1996. However, there seems to be no detailed information on whether a search was actually conducted in that vicinity. Given the long gap between her disappearance in Wisconsin and her reappearance in Nebraska, I wonder if she might have settled or had connections in Nebraska. If anyone has insights or knows about any follow-up investigations or searches specifically in the Lincoln area, please do share! Every little piece might help shed light on her whereabouts during those missing years.

Has anyone looked into the possibility that Shirley's disappearance could be linked to an unknown traveling or mobile suspect? I find it interesting that her last confirmed interaction was with police in Nebraska, a significant distance from her original location in Wisconsin. It makes me wonder if she could have encountered someone during her time on the road. Maybe she was hitchhiking, and that's how she ended up in Nebraska? I know it’s pure speculation, but given the lack of evidence, it’s something to consider. Also, does anyone know if there were any reported sightings or suspicious activity between Wisconsin and Nebraska during that time frame? Maybe there's something that could give clues on her direction of travel or reason why she ended up there.
