Hey everyone, I've been following the Kansas State University students' case from December 2001 and wanted to bring up the weather conditions on the day they went missing. It was reported that although the air temperature was surprisingly mild, in the sixties and seventies, the lake conditions were less than ideal for sailing. The wind was strong, and those who've sailed on Tuttle Creek Lake before know how unpredictable it can become. As an experienced sailor myself, I know how crucial it is to understand the lake's temperament and weather changes. It's strange that experienced sailors like them would risk going out with those winds. Could it have been possible they underestimated the situation or tried to take advantage of the mild temps, thinking they had more control than they actually did? It makes me wonder if their decision to sail was influenced by the deceptive warmth of that afternoon. Thoughts?
