Has anyone here been to Redfish Lake and can speak to how cold it really gets around July? I’ve visited lakes in Idaho, but not that one specifically. I’m curious because the temperatures could have been a serious shock to Joel, especially if he wasn’t expecting it. Those who jumped in to help him also struggled; it seems that cold water really takes a toll on the body fast. Just heartbreaking that a simple day trip turned into such a tragedy. Hearing about how they called off the search because of the poor weather and depth makes me wonder about the challenges the searchers face in these conditions. It’s eerie to think about the depths of the lake and how they can prevent even the best efforts from succeeding.
