Terrence Desean Smith, a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on Monday, April 18, 2011, at approximately 10:52 p.m. His body was found in an alley in the 700 block of Columbia Road Northwest in Washington, D.C., after Metropolitan Police officers responded to reports of gunshots. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators canvassed the neighborhood that night and issued an alert for two Black males who were seen nearby, but that lead did not produce arrests. The Metropolitan Police Department offered a reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
