Has anyone else been fascinated by how information in cold cases sometimes comes out right before someone passes away? I’ve been following the Benjamin James Parker case, and it's just wild to me that Parker’s wife made that confession about the son-in-law on her deathbed. What gets me is, why hold onto such a huge secret for so long? I mean, that's 25 years of silence. And how does an entire family navigate their lives with such a heavy truth hidden away? It's just mind-boggling how these things can remain buried for so long until someone is finally ready to speak up. Makes you wonder what other secrets are out there just waiting to be uncovered as time goes on. Thoughts?
Hi everyone, been reading up about the Benjamin James Parker case and there's something that's really stuck with me. I'm curious about the dynamics between families in situations like this.
How do you think the children felt during all those years believing their father had simply abandoned them, only to find out much later that their reality was far darker and more complicated? It must have been such a shock to learn that their mom had kept such a secret, and that their own brother-in-law was implicated in the crime. It's hard to imagine how much trust and relationship dynamics changed for them, especially after their mother's confession.
Also, I wonder what kind of psychological impact it had on their lives, and if there's any kind of support system for people going through revelations like this. If anyone has insights or knows of similar cases, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
