Epel's abandoned car found in Glades County has always puzzled me. I’m trying to wrap my head around why his car ended up so far from Miami, on Okeechobee Road of all places. It's like he wanted to get far, but why stop there? Does anyone know if the car was in working condition when it was found? I'm curious if he could've gone further if he wanted to, or if it broke down. The area between Miami and Glades isn't exactly bustling, so it seems odd to be found there. Also, any locals from back then who remember if it was common for people to travel that route? Wondering if there's something I'm missing about the location's relevance. Any insight would be great!
Has anyone else been curious about the location where Arnold Epel's car was found? Okeechobee Road isn't exactly a well-traveled area if you're familiar with it. It's puzzling that his car ended up 130 miles away from his last known location in Miami, especially since leaving a note suggesting he intended to take his own life.
Why drive such a distance? Did he have a connection to someone or something in Glades County? And with the note's content still mostly undisclosed, we're left speculating on his intentions that day. I also find it intriguing that there was mention of him having a Sony Walkman. Could it have played a part in his plans as a source of solace or something more?
I'm eager to hear any theories or insights others might have regarding these aspects.
