Sanchez Quiroz Barbarino, a 29-year-old Hispanic/Latino man, was found badly beaten in the back seat of a 2000 Nissan Maxima on the 100 block of Lexington Street in Birmingham’s Wylam neighborhood on June 4, 2007. He was not pronounced dead at that scene; records indicate he had died three days earlier, on June 1, at UAB Hospital, creating a troubling gap between the time of his death and the car’s discovery.
Key questions remain: where did the assault occur, how and why was he moved to that vehicle, and who was responsible for the fatal injuries. Anyone who knew Sanchez Quiroz Barbarino or who has information about his movements in late May and early June 2007 is asked to come forward.
