I’ve been following Joshua Smith’s case closely, and like many of you, I’m struggling to wrap my head around how something this tragic could happen to someone so young. I wanted to discuss the location where Joshua was found. The fact that he was discovered in a wooded area so close to his home is both haunting and telling. It makes me wonder if he knew his killers well enough to trust them, or if he was forcibly taken away. This wooded area is apparently a spot where local kids sometimes hang out, which just breaks my heart. It should have been a safe place for kids to explore and play, not the scene of such a horrific crime. I can’t imagine the fear and confusion Joshua must have felt. My thoughts are with his family and the entire Riverside community as they continue to cope with this unimaginable loss. I hope they see justice served for Joshua. Has anyone local heard any updates, or if there’s anything the community is doing to honor his memory?
