I’ve been thinking a lot about Joel's trip gear, specifically that bright red inflatable kayak. It's really striking that none of it has ever been found. You would think something that noticeable would have turned up during the search. Makes me wonder if it could have been swept away in a stream or even hidden under heavy foliage. Plus, being in a park as popular as Yosemite, I would have expected at least hikers or park visitors to stumble across some remnants. Is it possible it was taken by someone? Perhaps someone found his gear and assumed it was abandoned? Just bouncing around some ideas. Anyone else have thoughts on how such distinct equipment could just vanish?
Has anyone else been struck by the fact that not a single piece of Joel's gear was ever found? I mean, with all the colorful equipment he had, you’d think something would have turned up by now, even a clue. Yosemite is massive, but nothing? Not even in places where it seems logical for him to end up? It's almost like he vanished into thin air. I've been following a lot of these cases, and usually, there's at least a trace left behind, right? Maybe I’m overthinking, but does anyone else feel like there’s something more to the story? I just can't shake this feeling that we're missing a crucial detail. Anyone local to the area have thoughts or insights?
