One thing I'm really curious about in the case of Ladexter Pelt and John Dubose is the role of technology and how it shapes investigations these days. Dubose's phone was found in the Sutter Bypass Wildlife Area, which initially seemed like a huge break. But I wonder if they could have used geolocation data to track their movements in more detail. I've read about "digital breadcrumbs" being valuable in cases like these. Does anyone know if investigators talked about using tech to trace their steps beyond just finding the phone? Seems like digital forensics could potentially have led them to more solid leads. It's just strange that even with what seems like a plethora of digital evidence, they still haven't been able to close in on the truth—or even find the bodies. What are your thoughts on how it all played out?
