Hi everyone,
I wanted to touch on the community's efforts in Chad Smith's case. It's really moving to see how people have come together over the years, even though we're all feeling the weight of not having new information. I came across a group on Facebook that Cheryl, Chad's sister, started to keep his story alive and reach a wider audience. If you haven't joined yet, it's called "Bring Chad Home" and it's filled with updates, family messages, and ways to get involved in spreading the word. They recently organized a local fundraiser to support wider search efforts, bringing some great community solidarity. Every little bit helps keep Chad’s case in the spotlight. If anyone wants more info on how to contribute, feel free to DM me. Let's keep pushing forward for Chad and his family.
Has anyone else been following the Chad Smith case from Elgin, Illinois? I stumbled upon it recently and can't help but feel puzzled by the lack of updates. I know some missing persons cases go cold, but it seems strange that nothing has come up in over two years. I read somewhere that there was no immediate evidence of foul play at the start, which makes me wonder if something was missed early on.
His family is really pushing for more visibility, which makes me think they're not getting the attention this case needs. Maybe if more people in the community highlighted his story, it could spark the memory of someone who saw something. Small details can lead to big discoveries, after all!
Does anyone have any theories on why the case might be stalled, or know of similar situations where new leads have been found after a long time? It would be good to keep Chad's story alive and maybe help his loved ones get some answers.
Did anyone else notice the timeline gaps in Chad Smith's case? I was looking through some old news reports and noticed there's very little mentioned about his activities leading up to January 1, 2021. Everything I've found just says that's when he was "last seen," but there's almost nothing about what he was doing that day—or even the days before. Usually, with missing persons cases, there are at least some details about their last known activities or who they were with, but in Chad’s case, it seems like a big blank. It makes me wonder if law enforcement has more info they’re keeping under wraps, or if they genuinely don’t know. Either way, it must be incredibly frustrating for his family to not have any concrete leads to follow up on. If anyone has stumbled upon more specific information about his whereabouts during that time, it might help piece things together or jog someone’s memory.
