Has anyone else noticed how much time elapsed before Nelson was officially reported missing? It’s unusual, right? The fact that his family didn't report him missing until late March 2019 when he disappeared in December 2018 is troubling. Maybe he was not in regular contact, leading to the delay, but it could also mean something about the circumstances around his disappearance. Given the info from his landlord about him possibly owing money, could the delay hint at fear or uncertainty from the family about getting authorities involved? It’s just odd and adds another layer to this baffling case. If anyone has more info or thoughts on this angle, please share.
I've been following Nelson D. Martinez Iraheta's case, and something I've been thinking about is the timing of that missing person report. His family didn't report him missing until March 27, 2019, over three months after he was last seen. I wonder if this delayed report might have impacted the investigation in any way. Not blaming the family, of course—just wondering if there might've been any reasons for the delay, like maybe hoping he'd contact them? I know families often hold onto hope for as long as possible. Still, it's made me think about how crucial those early days must be in a disappearance case. Does anyone know more about his relationship with the family or what the situation was like during those months he was unaccounted for?
