I've been following Shikerra Howard's case and wanted to talk a bit about something that’s been gnawing at me—domestic violence. It's deeply troubling to think about how such a vibrant young life could be lost potentially due to circumstances that might have involved domestic issues. It's clear that the community is really reeling from this, as are her family and friends. They seem like such a tight-knit group, and I can't even begin to imagine the depth of their loss. But beyond just mourning, this has made me think about how crucial it is to address these situations before they escalate. It's not just about justice after a tragedy, but prevention. What can we, as a society, do to help stop domestic violence before it turns deadly? I hope we can channel some of this sorrow and anger into real action to support those who might be facing similar situations. Shikerra should still be here, and I'm hoping that some meaningful change can emerge from this darkness.
