Hey everyone, I stumbled upon David Lee Hatfield's case and found something intriguing about the conflicting reports on his last known location. Some sources say Sacramento, others San Francisco. I wonder how this could have affected the investigation from the start. If the authorities were looking in Sacramento and he was actually in San Francisco, it might explain why there’s been so little progress for over 40 years. It makes me think about the impact of jurisdictional issues in missing persons cases. Could it be that someone in Sacramento knows something and someone in San Francisco knows something else and they just haven’t put the pieces together? Would be interested to hear if anyone else has dug into errors like this in other cases or has any info on how this type of miscommunication is typically resolved in missing persons investigations.
