Hi everyone,
I've been following the Neely case for a while, and I'm really struck by the details surrounding their life before this tragedy. Dr. William C. Neely and his wife, Betty, seemed to have shared a long, fulfilled life, both reaching into their 90s. It's incredibly sad to think about how their journey ended this way.
I was reading about the times they were seen around their community in Auburn. It seems they were both well-regarded, often participating in local events and known by many for their kindness and quiet involvement in community affairs. I can only imagine how this loss is affecting their neighbors and friends.
It's reassuring that the authorities don't see it as an ongoing threat to the community, but it makes me wonder about the circumstances leading to this senseless act. I hope more light is shed on what happened soon, not only for those of us following but more importantly for their family and those who loved them.
My heart really goes out to everyone impacted by this immense loss. I hope the memorials and tributes bring some peace and allow people to remember the Neelys for the positive impact they had over the years.
Warm thoughts to all,

I’ve been following the discussions about Dr. William and Betty Neely’s tragic deaths, and one aspect that's been on my mind is how beautifully the community has come together to honor their memory. Seeing people post photos and share stories on the National Gun Violence Memorial site is deeply touching. It paints a picture of the lives they led and the many people they touched over the years. Dr. Neely, with his long career and dedication, and Betty with her warmth and grace, clearly made a big impact. I’m sure their family takes some comfort in knowing they're not alone during this difficult time and that so many people cared about them. It’s also a poignant reminder of how precious and vulnerable life is.
