Has anyone looked into the role of the border situation in Ignacio Dejesus Cantua's disappearance? Given that Calexico is right on the border, I can’t help but wonder if there's any connection. This was 1999, so the border security landscape was different back then. Was there any increased activity or known issues around that time which might offer a clue? Also, I've been thinking that with three of them vanishing at once, it's odd there hasn't been more info coming out over the years. If anyone has any additional insights or theories on why such little information has been released, it would be appreciated.

I've been diving deep into the Cantua family case and came across something puzzling about the records. It's peculiar that a case file for Maria Teresa Cantua wasn't created until January 9, 2011, which is over a decade after their disappearance. It makes me wonder why there was such a significant delay. Was there a lack of evidence back then, or did the authorities have a different line of inquiry? I'm really curious if anyone in law enforcement or with legal knowledge can shed some light on how these things typically work. It feels like this delay might have affected the investigation's progress. Thoughts?
