Percy Williams, a 20-year-old Black man who grew up in Ivy City, was shot and killed in the early hours of October 19, 2015. Officers found him with gunshot wounds at about 2:06 a.m. in the 1900 block of Capitol Avenue Northeast. Emergency responders took him from the scene but he later died of his injuries and the Metropolitan Police Department opened a homicide investigation.

Police released video footage of a possible suspect and offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction, but as of late 2015 no arrests had been announced. Williams had been active in his neighborhood from a young age, once testifying to the D.C. Council at age 12 for a youth recreation center. He had faced personal setbacks, including the loss of his father and a past drug distribution conviction, and was on probation when he died; he was also employed as a technician after completing a construction certificate program. Friends and family remembered him as generous and caring.

Did anyone in Ivy City see or hear anything on the night of October 19, 2015 that could help bring justice for Percy?
