Hey everyone, I’ve been down a rabbit hole with Justin Keith Burgwinkel's case, and there's something that's been sticking in my mind. When Justin’s car was found abandoned at that Monterey motel, all his personal items were just sitting there — wallet, credit cards, even his military ID and dog tags, but no sign of the handguns he had recently purchased. The fact that his dog tags were left behind is particularly unsettling given that he had told Iolanda it meant he was dead if she ever found them. It makes me wonder if leaving them was Justin's way of sending a message or if it was part of a setup to make it seem like he met a grim fate. The whole "Watch White Sands, it’ll explain everything" bit also makes me think Justin wanted to leave clues behind, perhaps thinking he was onto something big with the whole clandestine operation angle. But who leaves such important personal items behind unless they’re trying to make a clean break or send a signal? It's just bizarre. If anyone else has theories on why he might've wanted someone to find these items, or if you think something else was going on, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
