I was reading through some older articles and noticed that Hieu Phuong Tran went missing on such a remote island with a small population. It's strange that someone could simply vanish like that in a place where it seems like everyone would know everyone else's business. Unalaska isn’t exactly bustling 24/7, so you'd think any unusual activity would stand out. I wonder if there was any CCTV at the spit dock or near the small boat launch that might have captured something that night. Maybe even witnesses who didn’t come forward initially? Given how close-knit some fishing communities tend to be, it's puzzling that there haven't been more leads over the years. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about Hieu Phuong Tran’s case, especially the oddity surrounding the rental truck. It was found two days after he was last seen near Alyeska Seafoods, which you’d think would be a place he frequented since he worked on the F/V Retriever there. But what puzzles me is why park a rented truck there and seemingly abandon it? He must have had some destination or reason for leaving it. I know it’s been years, but if anyone was in Dutch Harbor or worked in similar fisheries back in 2003, were there areas fishermen or workers tended to go when they had some time off? Maybe that could give some clue as to where or why he disappeared after parking the truck. Just a thought—hoping something small could lead to more answers.
