Hey everyone, I was digging through old missing person cases and came across the story of Joseph F. Fiala. Something that really stands out to me is the choice of General Delivery for his mailing address in Foxhole, Alaska. This was somewhat common for people living in remote areas or moving frequently, as it allowed them to receive mail at the local post office rather than having a permanent home address. It's possible he was planning to be quite mobile or wasn't settled in one place yet, which makes me wonder if he might have been staying at multiple locations or even camping when he first arrived in the area. With him being on a bicycle with his belongings in that photo, it leads me to think he was living quite minimally. Does anyone know if there's been any search in the wilderness areas around there, or perhaps checks on logbooks or visitor records at local campsites from back in the day? Just thinking out loud, but those might be worth looking into if they haven't been already. Any thoughts or info would be appreciated!
