It's so frustrating how these interstate custody issues can become such a tangled mess. It really makes you wonder about how the legal system handles these kinds of cases. How could the paternal grandmother have even been able to file for guardianship without the mother knowing? It seems there should be safeguards to prevent someone from obtaining guardianship in one state without notifying involved parties in another. I get the feeling that sometimes these legal loopholes only end up putting kids at more risk. I hope Semauri and Semaj are safe and that this can be resolved quickly. Does anyone know more about how these interstate custody disputes are usually handled? I find it hard to believe there isn't a more streamlined process.
