I keep thinking about the night Damon Dukes was taken from us. It's so tragic that someone so young, just 25, had his life cut short on that cold evening in January. As someone who used to live near the 200 block of V Street, it's chilling to think about how something this horrific could happen in a community we call home. Damon deserves justice, and I can't imagine how difficult it must be for his family and friends, still waiting for answers nearly five years later. I’m hopeful that the reward will encourage someone to come forward. There’s no doubt that someone out there knows something, even just a small piece of info that could lead to a big break in this case. If you’re reading this and you think you might have seen or heard anything that evening, please remember there’s a family desperately needing closure. Let’s keep Damon in our thoughts and continue spreading the word. The more people are aware, the higher the chance we can finally get justice for him.
