Has anyone else been reflecting on Ronnie Cole's case and the role of clothing in water rescues? I read that Ronnie was wearing blue jeans and shoes when he was swept away by the Merced River's strong currents. It got me thinking about how important it is to be mindful of what we wear when we're around bodies of water like this, especially during high runoff. It seems like heavy clothing could make situations like that even more dangerous. Does anyone know if there have been discussions or changes in recommendations for what to wear if you're planning to be near potentially risky water conditions since this incident? Stay safe out there, everyone.
Have any locals noticed any new safety measures put in place at Cable Beach after Ronnie Cole's tragic accident? I can't help but wonder if they've installed more warning signs or barriers to prevent such incidents in the future. Given the dangerous conditions that resulted from the massive snowmelt, it seems like more should be done to alert people about the risks of swimming in those kinds of water currents, especially during peak runoff seasons. I've read about other incidents in similar conditions, and it just keeps happening. If anyone has been out there recently, I'd love to hear if the community has taken any preventive action since Ronnie's disappearance.
