I can't stop thinking about how this tragedy has shaken the community. When I heard about Jason's murder, my heart immediately went out to his family and friends. I can only imagine the immense pain they're going through—losing someone so young and full of potential. It's worrying to think about gun violence happening right in Sylacauga. I grew up in a time when we felt safer, and hearing about the shooting at Virginia Avenue and Scrooge Alley makes me question what's happening to our neighborhoods. I've been following the investigation closely, and I hope the arrest of Marquese Duncan will start to provide some answers and accountability. Let's use this as an opportunity to engage in meaningful change around community safety and gun control. We owe it to Jason to keep this conversation going, to prevent another family from experiencing such a devastating loss.
