Matthew Clark McDonald, 29, disappeared from the area of Howe Cemetery in Long Branch Borough on March 9, 2023. He was last seen after his girlfriend picked him up from a job site and drove him to the cemetery, where she says he exited the car. She then returned to the job site to retrieve a phone he had left behind and, on coming back, found Matthew gone. He has not been seen or heard from since.
At the time of his disappearance he was about 6 feet 1 inch, 185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and had several tattoos, including praying hands with a rosary on his right forearm. His family insists he would not voluntarily cut off contact with his son and loved ones. There was a recent warrant for a parole violation, but the family does not believe he fled because of that.
Authorities say they have investigated multiple leads, executed search warrants, and searched the home and vehicle of the woman he was last with, but no significant evidence has explained his disappearance. Family-organized searches, vigils and a rally urging more investigative focus have kept the case in the community’s attention.
Did anyone in the California or Long Branch area see Matthew around March 9, 2023, or have information about his last known movements?
