I recently came across the case of Frank Peak, and I’m really intrigued by the role of empty leads in historical cases. I read that the investigation had a few potential threads that went nowhere, which must have been incredibly frustrating for everyone involved, especially considering how much the community respected him. It's easy for cold cases like his to seem like they'll never be solved, but isn't it amazing to think just one new piece of information could change everything? My heart goes out to his family—waiting for closure for so long has to be incredibly difficult. Sometimes I wonder, with such advances in technology, if there might be undiscovered records or clues hidden somewhere, just waiting to be found. Has anyone else looked into how other cold cases from that era were eventually cracked?
Has anyone else looked into the type of handgun that might have been used in Marshal Peak's murder? Considering it was 1915, firearms like revolvers were pretty common for law enforcement and criminals alike. I've been trying to piece together what type of gun might have been used based on the historical context and typical ammunition from that era.
It's frustrating to think that this detail might be a crucial part of the investigation, but without proper documentation from the time, we're left guessing. I keep picturing how terrifying that night must have been for him, and how the lack of resolution still weighs heavy on the community. If we could somehow narrow it down, maybe it could help lead to more clues or even identify a suspect over a century later. A long shot, I know, but every piece could be part of the puzzle.
