I can't stop thinking about Cheri Twilley's son and the impact this traumatic event has had on him. Surviving such a violent encounter and losing his mother in such a brutal way must be incredibly difficult. I can only imagine the emotional scars he has to carry moving forward. It's truly awful to consider what he went through sitting beside her that night—being in the wrong place at the wrong time but through absolutely no fault of his own.
Supporting family members and friends of victims after these incidents can make a world of difference. Whether it's reaching out to him, sharing memories of his mom, or helping ensure he knows he's not alone—our community's support can be crucial. If any of you are local, does anyone know if there have been efforts or fundraisers set up to help him heal or adjust? Or perhaps resources that people can contribute to? Would love to hear about any initiatives in place.
Sending continued strength to her son and all who loved Cheri.
I’ve been digging into Cheri Lashunda Twilley’s case, and something that’s been really gnawing at me is the aftermath for her son. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma he’s been through, witnessing the horror of losing his mom like that and surviving a shooting himself. It’s a miracle he made it through, but the emotional scars must be so deep. It’s infuriating how someone’s impulsive and violent actions can shatter so many lives. I hope he's got a solid support network around him, because this kind of trauma can’t be battled alone. I find it so important for communities to rally around survivors long after an incident like this fades from the news. If anyone knows if there's any fund or community support initiative for him, sharing that info could really help.
Has anyone else been thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on Cheri's son? I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like for him, not only going through the terrifying ordeal of being shot but also losing his mother in such a sudden and violent manner. Surviving something so traumatic must be incredibly difficult, and I really hope he's been able to find support and healing somehow. Cases like these really make me reflect on how a single moment can change everything for families and communities. Does anyone know if there's been any outreach or support in Birmingham for victims of such violence? It feels crucial for both healing and prevention.
