I’ve been following Phillip Begay’s case and something that’s been on my mind is the role of local media in such disappearances. Often, cases involving Indigenous persons don't get the same level of media attention. In Gallup and the broader New Mexico area, a more robust media presence might help keep these cases in the public eye. It's frustrating to see the lack of updates from news outlets, and it makes me wonder how community-driven efforts can bridge this gap. Does anyone here have experience reaching out to local journalists or using social media effectively to boost awareness in such situations?
