I came across the old case of Sara J. Amelia Cole while reading about unsolved crimes in Vancouver, WA, and it truly struck a chord with me. The idea that such a violent and senseless act happened in what should have been the safety of her own home is incredibly upsetting. I wonder if there might be any overlooked details from that night in 1967 that could still be of help to the investigation after all these years. What stands out to me is the description of the suspect - a young white male between 20-25, not particularly tall but with a dark complexion. It's a unique enough description that you’d think someone might recall seeing a person like that around the area at the time. Did anyone in the neighborhood notice anything unusual or remember someone fitting that description hanging around? Also, I can't help but feel for the families involved. It's awful to think about how the other elderly woman who was attacked must have been affected by this ordeal. Hopefully, with modern investigative techniques, the Vancouver Police Department might eventually bring some answers and closure. If there's anyone with memories or information about that period, even if they think it's minor, it might make all the difference.
