I've been digging into some old records about the William Fred Duckworth case, and I came across a few mentions of city council meetings that happened just before his untimely death. It's intriguing to think about what might have been discussed during those sessions. Given Duckworth's prominence and influence, I wonder if any contentious issues were on the table that could have sparked animosity. It's a long shot, but I can't help but feel there could be a connection worth exploring. If anyone has access to archives or knows more about the city council's agenda back in late 1971 or early 1972, it might shed light on potential motives or suspects. It's a difficult puzzle, but maybe with collective effort, we can piece together some of the overlooked details. My thoughts are with his family and those who knew him. It must be incredibly difficult not to have closure after all these years.

I’ve been diving deep into old newspaper archives and came across William Fred Duckworth’s case. What I find bizarre is the location—Major Avenue. It was apparently such a quiet neighborhood back in 1972. Can anyone who’s from Norfolk shed some light on this area during that time? I’m curious if there were any big changes or strange events around Major Avenue that might have slipped under the radar. It’s unsettling to think a former mayor could be gunned down in what was supposedly a safe part of town. My heart goes out to his family and all who knew him. Hopefully, we’ll get the answers needed to bring closure to this case.
