I've been following the case of Bernard Daniel Ewen, and something that really stands out to me is the location. Ewen lived in the Bemis Block building on Main Street in Hardwick, an area that would have seen at least some foot traffic, even back in 1977. It's puzzling to think that a robbery could escalate to murder in such a place without anyone noticing anything suspicious. I wonder if anyone living in the vicinity at the time might recall seeing or hearing something that seemed out of place? Maybe it's just one small detail that could help piece this puzzle together. My thoughts go out to the loved ones of Mr. Ewen. They’ve waited so long for answers, and I truly hope the ongoing efforts of the Vermont State Police bring some closure to this case.
