I came across JoHanna Leatherbury’s case while digging through some cold cases, and what struck me was the setting around her murder. The old Saltair resort where her body was found has such an eerie and isolated history. The place was once lively and full of people, and by 1971, it had turned into this desolate backdrop. It’s chilling to think about what JoHanna might have gone through alone and in such a haunting location.
The fact that crucial evidence got damaged in a flood is just so frustrating. It's like every piece of her story meant to bring justice has been challenged by time. I can’t imagine the anguish her family must feel with every passing year, hoping for answers yet facing obstacle after obstacle. I really hope with all the advancements in technology and eye witnesses opening up after all these years, that they can finally lay to rest what happened to sweet JoHanna.
If anyone remembers something from back then or knew someone who was around "The Complex" on August 20, 1971, please come forward. Even the smallest detail might be the key to unlocking this tragedy. JoHanna deserves justice, and her family deserves peace.
I've been following JoHanna Leatherbury's case for a while now, and one detail that's been gnawing at me is the car she got into the night she disappeared. Witnesses mentioned she left The Complex with two men and others, but does anyone know if there's been any identification of these people over the years? Maybe it was just a ride home, but could they have been familiar faces to her or just random strangers?
It's just so sad to think how this young woman was on the verge of starting her adult life and never got the chance. Her family's resilience is truly inspiring; they've been fighting for answers for so long, even with the case's many setbacks. It makes me wonder if anyone out there remembers something about that night or the people involved. Every little bit might help, and JoHanna and her family deserve justice. It'd mean a great deal if someone with information could finally come forward.
