Reading about David Stack's case tugs at my heart—as it reminds us all of the dangers that come with hitchhiking, especially back in the '70s. I've been thinking a lot about the fact that someone out there holds the missing piece to this puzzle. The very act of hitchhiking, which was so common in that era, makes this case feel even more tragic. David was just 18, full of dreams, and looking for a bit of adventure on his way to California. It's chilling to think that one of the last people who saw him—or picked him up—before his untimely death might still hold crucial information. It's so important for anyone who might have traveled through Wendover during that summer to come forward, even if what they remember feels inconsequential. A small detail could be what breaks this cold case wide open, giving his family some of the answers they've deserved for decades. Let's hope that shining a light on his story helps bring justice for David.
