I can't stop thinking about the role community complicity might be playing in the lack of resolution for Robert Barrientes's case. It's really disturbing to hear that Veronica faced obstacles when she tried to leave memorials and gather information at the bar. It makes me wonder if the locals know more than they're letting on, or maybe they're scared to speak out. This all happened in a small area where people tend to know each other well, right? My heart really goes out to the family. What a nightmare to want justice for your loved one and feel like you're hitting a wall at every turn. I hope someone out there has the courage to come forward with information. We can't let fear and silence perpetuate this injustice. If even one person steps up, it could really make all the difference.
