Does anyone remember the A’ole Poina project that HPD started back in 2018? I recently came across it while looking into unsolved cases and realized that Manuel Baptist's disappearance from 1980 wasn't mentioned even once in their reviews or by the Doe Network. What gives? I mean, wouldn’t a missing person's case as old as his warrant a deeper dive, especially with a dedicated Cold Case Unit? Is it possible the public's just not been given all the facts, or do you think there might have been an oversight or something that's kept Manuel’s case off the radar? Just thinking out loud here, but perhaps it's another call to action for us to dig a bit more or maybe hold those community forums to see if any locals have stories or memories that never made it to the official records. Just seems odd how some cases continue to linger in limbo for so long. Thoughts?

It's puzzling that Manuel Baptist’s case isn't even listed on the Doe Network or CrimeStoppers Honolulu. Does anyone have more insight into why some cases seem to fall off the radar like this? I mean, they've been pushing the A’ole Poina project since 2018 to cover cold cases but it’s like there's still a gap with some older cases just not making it to public records. Could there be procedural reasons or maybe family requests involved? It's been over 40 years now, and I'm curious if anyone from Honolulu remembers any local news or community efforts back then. Sometimes these missing links are out there; we just need to keep looking and questioning.

Does anyone else feel like Manuel Baptist's case might have just slipped through the cracks? I've been looking into his disappearance and noticed it’s not even listed in the Doe Network's records or CrimeStoppers’ current cases. It bumps against the idea that he might have been forgotten over the years. I was curious if anyone knows if his family ever worked with private investigators or if any local journalists have revisited his story recently? Sometimes fresh eyes or renewed media interest can stir up new leads. Just thinking about ways to bring more attention to older cases like his, since the HPD’s A’ole Poina project seems like a great initiative, but it's only as powerful as the tips they receive. If anyone's local or has connections in Honolulu, maybe there’s some way to help increase visibility? Even just sharing updates or posters could get people talking again.
