Hey everyone, I wanted to share a bit about the community's response to Navarro "Danny" Huey's passing back in 2013. It's been on my mind ever since I read about it. Danny was clearly someone who left a significant mark on those around him, not just from his family but extending to the wider community. I read that his funeral service at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ was attended by many, showing just how deeply he was cherished. It’s truly moving to see how those who loved him continue to hold onto his memory and look for justice and answers, especially considering how little we still know about the circumstances surrounding his death. His kindness and the love he gave to others lives on in those who knew him. Sending thoughts and strength to Danny’s family and friends. Would love to hear how others are coping and remembering him if they feel like sharing.

Has anyone looked into the community events Navarro "Danny" Huey was involved in? I heard he was really active in local charity work and was always there to help anyone in need. It’s clear he left a significant mark on those around him. It would be interesting to hear from someone who might’ve known him through that avenue or participated in any of the events he was passionate about. This whole situation just feels so heavy, especially for those who knew him well and saw the positive changes he brought to others' lives. Thoughts and memories from the community might shed more light on who he was and how deeply he touched the lives of those around him. ?

I came across the case of Navarro "Danny" Huey while browsing through some local archives, and I can't stop thinking about how someone so beloved could be taken from his community. It's particularly poignant to see how the folks in Houston have continued to keep his memory alive, especially through the services held at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. It must have been a comforting space for his loved ones, given the warmth and community spirit the church is known for. I wonder if there are any ongoing community events or memorials in his honor. Does anyone here know if his family has shared any more about how they’re commemorating his life? It breaks my heart to think of the loss they must feel even now, a decade later.
