I've been following the case of William "Willie" Cook Jr., and I can't stop thinking about the impact this must have had on the community of Happy Camp back in 1976. It's hard to imagine the fear and anxiety that must have gripped such a small town after a child went missing. Everyone must have been looking over their shoulders and wondering if it could happen again. I keep hoping for some closure for his family, even all these years later. It's like the whole town lost its sense of safety in a way that would stick with them forever. I'm sure the families involved, including the ones initially accused, have lived under the shadow of this tragedy for so long. How devastating it must be to relive these memories every time there's a new development. Sending thoughts to anyone who's been directly or indirectly affected by this chilling case.
