Has anyone else been following the case of Davis Phillips in San Antonio? One aspect that's particularly troubling to me is the forensic evidence related to his gunshot wound. The Bexar County Medical Examiner noted that Davis was shot in the back. This detail raises so many questions in my mind about what exactly transpired during those tense moments. I can’t stop thinking about the seconds leading up to the shooting. Was Davis retreating when he was shot? If so, does this alter the self-defense argument? I know Texas self-defense laws can be quite broad, but this seems like a gray area. The legal perspective can get so complex, and I feel for both sides involved. No one ever expects to be in such a situation, and it’s hard to imagine what the homeowner and Davis’s family are going through. I’m really curious if any more information will come out and help clarify the circumstances. Does anyone have insights or similar cases to share that might shed light on how situations like this have been handled in the past?
