Did anyone come across the local rumors about John Hartenfeld having some sort of map with him during his fishing trip? A friend of mine from the area told me there was talk back then about how he mentioned some 'secret spots' he wanted to check out, possibly handed down from someone familiar with the area. I'm curious if perhaps he was heading somewhere to the east of where his vehicle was found in Amalia. Anyone else heard something like this or know more about unusual areas between Angel Fire and Eagle Nest that might not be on the usual tourist maps? Could be a stretch, but maybe it's a lead that got overlooked.
