Not only did they have the presence of mind to stop and help, but their action potentially saved the life of the surviving victim. It breaks my heart to think about how a simple ride turned into an unforgettable encounter with tragedy. I hope this person has support and is doing okay, given the traumatic experience they went through. It’s a reminder of how deeply others are affected by these senseless acts of violence, beyond just the immediate victims and their families. We need more people like this bicyclist in the world—those who act with courage and compassion in the face of terror.
