Has anyone else been following Leander Nez's case? There's a point that’s been bugging me since he went missing. Given that the Navajo Nation Police Department's Missing Persons Unit was established later in 2021, I wonder if there might have been some initial delays or hurdles in his case. Having a dedicated unit is obviously a big step forward, but does it mean cases like Leander's that happened before its establishment faced challenges that newer cases might not? It's concerning to think about how many missing person cases might not get the attention they deserve right off the bat simply because the right resources weren't in place at the time. I’d really like to hear from anyone who might have insights into how the establishment of such units has impacted ongoing investigations within the Navajo Nation. On another note, it’s crucial for communities to keep discussing these cases. Public awareness can sometimes bring in new information or encourage someone who knows something to finally step forward. If anyone has some thoughts on this, I’d love to hear your perspective.

I've been following Leander Nez's case for a while now, and something that stands out to me is the role community cooperation can play in these investigations. Being from the Navajo Nation myself, I know how close-knit we can be, but it seems like there might be a need for more awareness so we can get more people involved. The Missing Persons Unit sounds like a crucial development that could really provide the focus needed for cases like this. I think pushing for more community-driven events around Sawmill, like awareness rallies or drives, could help gather more information. It's frustrating not knowing more, but hopefully, with time and increased community engagement, more leads will surface. Anyone else feel like there's more that can be done locally to support the investigation efforts?
