On November 3, 2007, 18-year-old Ronnie Lee Carver was fatally shot at the NCW carwash at 4007 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville. Carver had been sitting in the passenger seat of a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe while his friend, 20-year-old Stephen Donta Oden, was vacuuming the vehicle just before 4:00 p.m. A Black male in an early 2000s two-door dark blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo pulled into the carwash, approached the Tahoe and began a physical fight with Oden. The assailant produced a firearm and shot Oden, then turned and fired multiple times into the passenger side, striking Carver. Carver opened the passenger door and fell to the ground but was shot again while on the pavement. The shooter then returned to his Monte Carlo and drove away.
The killings remain an open investigation with the Nashville Police Department Cold Case Unit; no arrests have been announced and the shooter’s identity is unknown. Does anyone who was in that area on the afternoon of November 3, 2007, or who recognizes the vehicle description, have information to share with investigators?
