Was anyone else here familiar with the area around 1473 East Alcy Road where Calvin Blakely was found? I lived a few blocks away back in 2013, and I remember how unsettling it was to hear about such a tragedy happening so close to home. It felt like our entire neighborhood was in shock. We always saw families and kids playing around there; it's still hard to fathom that something so terrible could happen in what used to feel like such a safe place.
I just can't imagine the pain Calvin's family and friends must be going through, not having answers even after all this time. If there's anyone with connections to the community or even small bits of information, it could really help. MPD's Cold Case Unit and CrimeStoppers are doing what they can, but they need more help from the public. Every little detail might make a difference and bring us closer to justice for Calvin.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Calvin Blakely's case. It's really hard to comprehend how, after all these years, we still don’t have any answers. I read about the scene where he was found—it’s so unsettling to think that this happened right there, on a seemingly regular residential street. It's got to be tough for his family and neighbors who have to pass by the area, constantly reminded of what happened that morning near the church.
What's been keeping me up at night is why no one saw anything or has come forward with more substantial information. I understand the fear of speaking up, but there are avenues like CrimeStoppers where tips can be given anonymously. For those who live in or around that community or were even there back in 2013, any small detail could be significant. Imagine knowing you helped bring peace to Calvin’s family.
