I came across Nina Cook and Cekia Armstrong's cases while reading about unsolved crimes, and I've been thinking about the environment their families are enduring. It must be incredibly draining, not only dealing with such a profound loss but also facing the uncertainty and lack of closure. It’s so haunting how both women were found in strikingly similar conditions and within the same area. I can’t help but wonder if there are any residents on or around Sullivan Avenue who might have noticed something unusual during those times. These cases, despite being years old, feel so urgent and need ongoing attention. Please, if anyone remembers any details, no matter how small they seem, reach out to authorities. Let’s hope the community can rally to help find justice for Nina and Cekia.
I’ve been following Nina Cook’s case for a while now, and something that really strikes me is the issue of how prevalent violence is against women like Nina and Cekia Armstrong. Both stripped of their identities, almost as if someone wanted to erase who they were. It’s scary to think that someone out there has done this not once, but potentially twice.
The delay in classifying Nina’s death as a homicide must have been incredibly difficult for her family. Months of not knowing, and now years of waiting for justice. The families and the community deserve closure and to feel safe again. I hope that by sharing their stories, we can keep the pressure on to solve these cases and prevent this from happening to others.
Does anyone have any updates or know of ways to support the investigations? Maybe something local folks are doing that those of us who aren't nearby can contribute to? I'm sure it would mean a lot to Nina and Cekia's families to see that people still care and remember.
