I've been following the case of Jerome Williams and something that really sticks with me is the speed of the trial. It's rare to see a jury come to a unanimous decision in just 30 minutes, which makes me wonder if the evidence was that overwhelmingly clear or if there were other factors at play.
Jerome's family must have experienced such a rollercoaster of emotions through this process—losing someone they love in such a brutal way and then going through the trial. I hope the swift verdict at least offered them some sense of justice or closure, but I imagine the pain never truly goes away.
For those of you who have insights into quick verdicts, what might influence such a rapid decision? Do the sentences being given also play a role in that swiftness? Hoping for some constructive insights into this aspect of the justice system.
